My friend compared George Orwell to Ayn Rand.
Okay, they both weren’t the best writers and were more concerned with their ideas rather than their style but god damn’t, at least George Orwell had the depth to go beyond A = A nonsense
I personally thought Orwell was a fantastic writer- not one sentence in 1984 was unnecessary.
